My dude Sleaze, a few months back, released Ocarina Of Rhyme, which was an album composed from only Zelda samples...yeah that zelda. and he killed it. Now after an amazing 10,000 downloads, he is giving us a prize. The 10,000 Rupees Mix. Made from intros to Zelda. Sleaze has never dissapointed. Go cop.

I'm a Witness

Yo!
So I like Lebron James, I think he is arguably the best player in the NBA today. But I feel like that "moment" that defines a player has been just out of his reach so far. He's come very close, 2 years ago, Eastern Conference Finals, Lebron scored the final 24 points for the Cavs to lead them into the Finals.
But tonight, he got that moment.

King James drilled a fadeaway 3 pointer with 1 second left. You can officially put my name on the Witness list.

I wonder what Skip Bayless is gonna say about that?

Little Brother back with 9th? and Def Jam?

This morning, opting to reach out directly to fans as opposed to going through a publicist, Big Dho of the Justus League made a few announcements via the message boards at Okayplayer.com. Hall of Justus Music Group, the collective that consists of Little Brother as well as Joe Scudda, Oddisee, Cesar Comanche, Khrysis and others are apparently closer to getting the major label backing that has become scarce in recent times.

"As quiet as it been kept, Hall of Justus Music Group have been in talks with Def Jam on an off for the past two years," Dho wrote. "Well I'm in New York with our attorney and we're inking the deal in a half an hour or so."In addition to a potential Def Jam/Hall of Justus partnership, it appears that 9th Wonder's 2006 exit from Little Brother was only temporary.

"The first artist to be released under our new deal will be Little Brother," Dho added. "'Tay, Pooh and 9th are back together and secretly been in the studio with 9th working on a new Little Brother album that will be released in September."If the partnership becomes official, it will mark a major label return for Little Brother, after 2005's The Minstrel Show was released on Atlantic. At press time Def Jam has not commented on the deal, but more details are expected to come soon.

UPDATE: Via Twitter, Phonte of Little Brother has denied these rumors and postings. "LB IS NOT SIGNING TO DEF JAM AND WE AIN'T FUCKIN WITH 9TH WONDER ANYMOOOOOOORE! *falls out* *end scene*" read a caption.

The Urban Daily also contacted 9th Wonder, who said the following, "These are false allegations and therefore it is a lie.“The original OkayPlayer.com posting has yet to be explained. Let us Pray.

Throwback Vol.1 (100th Post)

Sometimes we get so caught up in the now with everything that is happening we forget to celebrate the wonders that have been laid behind us. About 10 years ago Janet Jackson got bit by the Hip-Hop bug and teamed up with Q-Tip (from A Tribe Called Quest) to make this instant classic. I think this song got slept on 10 years ago.

Make sure you guys listen to dope songs until your iPod breaks down...cause the road we are on, there won't be anymore dope songs.
Thanks for allowing me to get to 100 posts, thats pretty cool in itself

Wale Show Review

There was a Hip-Hop show in Richmond, Va so you know that EENJ and Sleaze was there. Wale came to the National and put on a hell of a show. Also, in the video you see a guy named Colin Monroe, he was ill. Not in the video below is local group Earthtone and newly signed Jay-z artist J.Cole...big ups to them.

One more to a 100

Do the...Ricky Bobby?

When will this ever stop? Seriously. Does the world need anymore crappy dances that you do with your homeboys? This is a direct result from corny-fucks watching House Party and their tandem dance. This right here is the exact reason our generation doesn't have nice things!
I shun you Rap
I SHUN YOU!

Can we have a syncronized book reading? Damn...I'm Sick.
I'm out, I'm going to see Wale perform in Richmond

Do you like FishSticks?

Kanye West doesn't and is pissed off about it. Last night on south park Cartman and Jimmy come up with the greatest joke ever and Mr. West takes it personally.
Heres the link to watch the whole episode for free

I was die'n laughing at the episode....PS watch out for Kanye's autotune song at the very end.

Rock The Bells Lineup Announced

I went to this event last year (I reviewed it here) and had a great time. I will say after looking over this year's line up I'm not as excited, but they say that more poeple are going to be added shortly. Hopefully they'll put on Little Brother or Jay-z. lol

I am excited to see Pete Rock, Supernatural (Watch this video of last years freestyle), Murs and KRS-ONE hosting. They'll be in Washington D.C. for one of their stops and I am seriously considering going again.

Viral Photos Vol.1

So viral videos get all the glory but what about still images? They need love too.I've tried to figure out what that was, best guess a standing cat?

Where are these girls and how do we become friends? Facebook me.

The Roots new album announced.

According to XXLMag.com, The Roots have finally announced a release date for their ninth studio album entitled How I Got Over. The Roots’ Black Thought revealed to XXL that the band is aiming for a June release date. “The new record is well underway—right now, it’s about completed,” Black Thought explained. “It’s a more celebratory album—the story of triumph and the rise of the brand that is ‘The Roots,’ and how we kept our heads above water consistently for so many years in the game without taking a hiatus, maintaining some love and relevancy for all this time.”Aside from serving as the house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Roots have also been performing at New York’s Highline Ballroom on their off days as part of The Roots’ Jam Session.
Hooray for June

UNC the National Champs!

As I sip my very cold congratulory miller lite, I can't help but smiling. I've been a Tar-heel fan as far back as I can remember. I've seen 3 championships in my time (93,05,09), but this team has really lodged its way into my heart. I know that ALOT of people hate Hansbrough and thats fine, but you can't deny the hustle and heart of that kid...thats why I love him.
So congrats UNC....heres to another one in 4 years when next years #1 recruiting class completes the cycle again.

Look for me tomorrow I'll be the guy walking around in my Tyler Hansbrough jersey!

HOORAY! lol

Will this Douche be a Redskin?

Jay Cutler is a Douche Bag. For the last few weeks he has acted like a pechulent child. The Denver Broncos inquired about getting Matt Cassel from the Patriots and that set off his little temper tantrum. He has not returned Broncos phone calls, put his house on the market and demanded a trade. So, the Broncos are going to trade him....and you could have guessed the Redskins couldn't be happier.
The Redskins quaterback Jason Campbell in the last 2 years has a record of 16-20 (cutler's is only 17-19) and is a guy that everyone likes, he would likely be out. They are the same age and Campbell has a much smaller contract. With this year being the 2nd under Jim Zorn, Campbell is expected to perform at a much higher level.
Every year the Redskins find a new way to piss me off. Last year, it was by starting the season so well and finishing it equally as bad. Although, last year we refrained from throwing millions of dollars around on big names...I thought we grew up. But this year we spend 187 million in 23 hours on three players, with Haynesworth the only one deserving (even though he has legal troubles looming). And now this, and I garuntee if the Redskins aquired Cutler we would have to give up Campbell and our 13th overall pick, that should be used for the Offensive Line or Linebacker. The Second thing that Dan Synder will do is sign Cutler to a new LONGER and much more EXPENSIVE deal before he even shows up to a Redskins Practice.
I hate the Redskins...

ShamWoW! It evens cleans Hooker blood!

So, Vince the ShamWoW guy got arrested in Florida this week. He picked up a hooker and paid her 1,000 for sex. He kissed her, she bit his toungue. Like tried to take his toungue completly off! He started punching her in the face repeatidly. She let go, they ran downstairs and were both arrested. I couldn't make that shit up if I wanted to.
Damn, lol

Thank you Anthony Grant!

Coach Anthony Grant has accepted the Alabama head coaching job. Which means he is leaving VCU after 3 regular season championships, 2 tourney championships and 2 NCAA bids. It is sad to see him go but I am glad for him and his family.
Here's my prediction: The next VCU coach is Tony Pujols the VCU assistant.

Rumor Mill- R.I.P. Magoo

I was browsin the internet and came across this story:

Sources report that early Thursday morning rapper Magoo, real name Melvin Barcliff, was found dead in a hotel room in Portsmouth, Va. Hotel owners said that they checked in "Magoo" two days ago and hadn't heard anything from the resident since the check-in. The cause of death has not been determined. Surrounding the rapper was an MP3 player and a notebook. Writing within the tablet, showed the derangement of a musician, disillusioned by the industry that had "chewed him up and spit him out". Police were called because a hospital associate stumbled upon an unconscious man inside the room. The rapper was believed to be visiting Virginia for a recording session, though he had not had a record out in quite some time. More details to follow.

Damn.

Where the Wild Things Are- Trailor

This shit got my underwear twisted!

If you ever read this book when you were younger than this looks like its the movie for you.

iPod on Suffle- Part.3

Musiq Soulchild- Don't Change. I really enjoy the fact that there are still artists that aren't afraid to show the fact that they are in love...I feel the majority of "Love Songs" aren't really about love...this is a good throwback to that era.

Wale- The Kramer. After the notorious "Kramer" rant where the "N" word was thrown around, Wale responded with what I think is more of a reflection of the society that creates these moments where people are able to hurt others with words. I've listened to song a lot and I feel it is one of the more truthful songs released in the last few years. At some points the Wale displays how the word with multiple meanings is becoming more accepted by everyone, even though it still carries many negitive conitations.

Mos Def- Got. To me this is classic Mos. Thats all i really have to say about that.

Thanks for shuffle'n with me, I'll catch ya'll on the next rotation.

...you so sweet

I just remembered how much i love this song, I give you:
Erykah Badu -Honey

PS When is the Gumby haircut coming back?

Artist you should know- D.Folks

Last Night I purchased an album from an artist that I had heard open up for Little Brother in Dec of '07. At the show I was very impressed this guys song writting and stage presence. Last night I saw that his album "Jupiter" was released in January so I had to get it on iTunes. D.Folks really came through on this. This whole album is real melodic and catchy. Although one of my favorite songs he does "Stacey Love" was not included on the album, but thats ok. Give the video below a watch and then go D/L this album, you won't be dissapointed.

BTW D.Folks is from Richmond Va and is signed to the same label as NERD.

Fasst like Nascar!

If you dont feel this, you aint livin'

Fasst....Fasst...

WTF Happened?

So if you've been checking the blog recently you'll know that I recently went on a cruise. I am also a HUGE college basketball fan (GO VCU and UNC!) When I left Jan.3rd North Carolina was 14-0 and heading into ACC games.
I get back and the week that I missed can be summerized like this:
They got punched in the face, went 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the ACC! They won the other night to stop from going 0-3 in the ACC, my question is what happened?
I've concluded that since I was out of the country UNC felt that they had no one to impress...well I'm back and puttin them on notice, get your shit right.

Kanye to Bare it all

Kanye West wants to post nude for a photoshoot in the near future, at least thats what he told reporters the other day. He also admitted that he wasn't quite ready for the jump to bare ass-ted shots yet "I definitely feel, like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I'll pose naked,”

Kanye sites other artists doing nude shoots and says that his will draw much publicity than the others "If [Bjork] wanted to pose naked, you'd (public and media) be like, 'Oh, that's Bjork.' But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it.”

If Kanye goes through with the photos, the Chicago representer will be following in the footsteps of several rappers. Big Daddy Kane jumped off the trend, posing with Madonna and Naomi Campbell.
